Bumber shelf 2.0 / Puskurihylly 2.0

Löysin aikoinaan metsästä vanhan jenkkiauton puskurit, hieman lommoilla. Tein niistä roinankerääjät. Mutta uudessa asunnossamme tarvittiin muuta. Tein niistä hyllyt poikani kanssa ylijääneistä levynpalasista.

Once upon a time I had fould the bumbers of an old American car, a bit dented. I made trash collectors of them to our old place. But in the new apartment I needed a shelf. So I made that with my son, we used some excess board pieces.






Aluksi rakensimme puuosan valmiiksi lattialla.

First we assembled the shelf on the floor.






















Seinälle laitoin yhden kulmaraudan keskelle alahyllyä.

On the wall I screwed one angle bracket to the center of the lower shelf. 









Sen avulla hylly saatiin helposti ylos seinälle ja vaateriin.

With that we got the shelf easily up and leveled.








Sitten puskurit ruuvattiin kiinni.

Then we screwed the bumbers to the shelf.

Nyt yksi asukas on löytänyt hyllylle.

Now one client has found the shelf.

Naulakko 2.0 / Coat rack 2.0

Edellisessä asunnossamme tämä naulakko toimi hyvin.
Mutta uudessa asunnossamme tuulikaapin leveys on 49 cm, joten piti miettiä asiat uusiksi-

In our previous house this coat rack was fine.
But in the new one it did not fit the 49 cm wide entry.

Alakerran tyyli on valkoiset seinät, mäntypuuta ja mustaa rautaa. Tein siis uuden naulakon sen mukaan.

The style of the basement is white walls, pine wood and black iron. So I made the new coat rack accordingly.

Ensin kasasin naulakon lattialla ja sitten hajotin sen kahtia. Tämä oli ainoa järkevä vaihtoehto saada naulakko lopulliseen paikkaansa, sillä kokonaisena sitä ei listojen ohi saanut.

First I assembled it totally on the floor. Then I unscrewed it into two parts, since that was the only way to assemble it into the destination.

TV-taso vanhoista toimistopöydistä / Media stand from old office tables

Aikaisemmin TV:n ympärillä näytti tältä. Talon rakenteiden välissä oli kuution muotoisia pyörillä kulkevia laatikoita. Muutettuamme uuteen kotiin nämä eivät enää mahtuneet sellaisenaan, joten piti keksiä jotain uutta.

Earlier our media center looked like this. Between the skeleton of the house we had cubic shaped wooden boxes on wheels. In our new home they did not fit as such, so something needed to be invented.

Sain kaksi vanhaa toimistopöydän kantta. Toinen oli virheetön ja toisessa oli naarmuja. Sijoitin ne päällekkäin siten, että pystyseinät otin vanhoista laatikoista. Toki jouduin vähän lisäpuuta laittamaan. Samalla tuli ratkaistua sohvapöydän ongelma, kun kumpikin menee samalla rakenteella.

I got two office table tops. The other was flawless, the other had some scratches. I placed them on top of each other so, that the walls came out of the previous boxes. With the same solution we got also the sofa table.

Unohdin ottaa kuvan sisäosan rakenteesta, mutta subbari on takana sisällä. Levyt ovat kiinni toisissaan vain muutamalla puutapilla eli systeemi on helposti purettavissa ja johdotukset muutettavissa. Edellisestä installaatiosta otin myös pyörät alle, joten siivous käy jokseenkin helposti.

I forgot to take a photo of the internal structure of the table, but the subwoofer is inside at the back. Boards are attached to  each other only with small wooden spokes and the construction can be easily taken apart. From the previous installation I took the wheels to make cleaning easier.

Ovikello kalavaa'asta ja polkupyörästä / Door bell from a fish weigh and bicycle

Lapsilta jäi pieneksi polkupyörä, joka oli suorastaan vaarallinen ajaa. Mutkissa poljin otti maahan kiinni. Eli pyöränä sitä ei voinut käyttää. Mutta se oli sen verran hyvässä kunnossa, että jotain siitä piti tehdä. Siitä tuli ovikello.

Kids grew up and left a children's bicycle, that was too dangerous to ride. In corners the pedals touched the ground. So we could not use it as a bicycle but it was in a too good a shape to throw it away. It became a door bell.

Ensin leikkasin pyörän rungon kahtia ja maalasin lopulta violetiksi.

First I cut the frame into two and painted it purple.

Sitten asensin pyörän takaisin.

Then I assembled the monocycle back.

Alunperin idea oli vetää toinen poljin seinän läpi ja laittaa siihen vastapainoksi vanha kahvipannu täynnä hiekkaa, mutta siitä piti luopua. Pannu kun heilui ja meinasi hajottaa oven ja seinän. Piti tehdä jotain muuta.

Original idea was to pull the other pedal through the wall and have there an old coffee pot full of sand as leverage. But the pot did swing too much and was about to destroy both the wall and the door. So I had to do something else.

Tässä pyörä on seinällä ulko-oven yläpuolella. Musta vastapaino on rautamutikka, jonka oikeaa käyttötarkoitusta en tiedä.

Now the monocycle is on the wall and on the door. The black cylinder is the counter weight.

Ketjusta roikkuu vanha rikkinäinen kalavaaka, joka toimii vetimenä.

From the chain hangs an old fish weigh as leaver.

Lisäksi asensin sähkökäyttöisen ovikellon, joka on integroitu piilossa olevalla mikrokytkimellä tähän pyörähärveliin.

Additionally there is an electrical door bell, which is integrated to this a bit bigger door bell with a hidden micro switch.

Antennitanko vaakasuoraan / Antenna pole horizontally

Yleensä antennitanko kiinnitetään pystysuoraan, mutta siksipä meillä se laitettiin vaakaan. Siitä tuli matonpuisteluteline.

Normally the antenna pole is installed vertically. That's why we installed it horizontally to create a place to clean carpets.

Valas lattialla / A whale on the floor

Aikoinaan tuli huviteltua kaakeleiden kanssa, paikkana vessan lattia.

A long time ago I had some fun with the tiles, the place is the toilet floor.

Melkein Volvo / Almost a Volvo

Alkoi vähitellen ärsyttämään maikailuautomme harvesteriominaisuus. Se keräsi oksia markiisin ja auton rungon väliin.

I had it enough with our camper. I collected branches as you can see in the photo.

Löytyi tienposkesta musta muoviesine, jonka tulkitsin Volvosta peräisin olevalta ovipeilin kuvulta. Leikkasin tuosta muoviesineestä pienen suirun pois. Kuvassa on tuo poistettu osa, jossa on todiste volvoudesta.

I found a black piece of plastic on the roadside. I interpreted it to be a door mirror cover of a Volvo. I cut away a small piece of that, that piece is in the photo. Also you can see the name Volvo in that.

Maalasin sen valkoiseksi. Tein sähkökourun palasista kulma"raudat" ja kiinnitin silikonia säästämättä vempeleen autoomme.

I painted the cover white and produced some angle brackets from some electrical installation pipe.

Valmis installaatio ei enää oksia kerää. Samalla auton aerodynamiikka parani huomattavasti. Olen vakuuttunut siitä, että polttoainetta säästyy ainakin 100 ml seuraavan 100 000 kilometrin matkalla tällä autolla, joka on siis jo melkein Volvo.

The completed installation does not collect branches any more. Also the aerodynamics of the car was improved. I am convinced that we will save at least 100 ml diesel within the next 100 000 km with this almost a Volvo camper.
